Your new Investor account is only a few clicks away. You can start by either choosing your Strategy Manager and clicking ‘Invest’ on their profile page, or by going straight to MyAlpari and creating an Investment account there.

Once your MyAlpari profile is verified, you are now ready to select your Strategy Manager and make a deposit.

There’s a huge number of Strategy Managers to choose from. You just need to decide how risky you’re feeling – as well as the returns you’d be hoping to see. Each Strategy Manager has a risk level which is based on a number of factors – their maximum drawdown, their aggression level and the stats on their closed trades.

If you need help with some of the terms mentioned, head to our Alpari CopyTrade Definitions glossary.

No limit at all – you can follow as many as you like.

There are two ways to make a deposit. You can either make an internal transfer, or an external transfer via a credit card, bank transfer or an e-wallet.

Head to Accounts Overview on MyAlpari. Select the Investment account you want to withdraw funds from before clicking ‘Withdraw’. There will be a few more fields to fill in – once you have done this, click ‘Submit’. If you want to withdraw the entire amount, select ‘I’d like to withdraw all funds and close the account’.

Of course! Just go to ‘My Investment Accounts’ on MyAlpari. Here, you will be able to see a ‘Pause’ button next to ‘Account Status’.

You can take your Investments off pause whenever you’re ready, by heading to Account Status and clicking ‘Resume’.

Absolutely. In ‘My Investment Accounts’ on MyAlpari, select the Investment account you need to change the protection level for.

In the Account section, click on Protection Level. Select the ‘Edit’ button, and adjust it to the setting you want, before clicking ‘Set’.

You can control the Safety Mode by heading to ‘My Investment Accounts’ on MyAlpari, and choosing the Investment account that you wish to change.

Go to the Account section and select Safety Mode. Toggle the ‘Enable/Disable’ button to change your setting. Want to know more about this Safety Mode feature? Go to our Alpari CopyTrade Definitions page.

Any profit share earned by your Strategy Manager is deducted straight from your Investment account. This happens at the end of the monthly interval, when you request a withdrawal, or if you close your Investment account.

No – they never have access to your account. Strategy Managers carry out their trading on their account only, and their positions are copied automatically across to yours.

Whenever you want. For open positions, deposits and withdrawals take place during the trading hours of the underline instrument.

No – the past performance of a Strategy Manager is never a guarantee of future profits.

With Alpari CopyTrade, there are four ways to help control and limit your risk. They are:

  1. Setting a protection level
  2. Pausing your account
  3. Operating in Safety Mode
  4. Choosing a Strategy Manager whose risk profile most matches your own

Simply withdraw your funds from your account. Choose the ‘I’d like to withdraw all funds and close the account’ option and click ‘Submit’.

Yes – you can do this by going to the Account Overview page, and scrolling down to the My Investment Accounts section. Select the blue Archive link located to the top right, and there you’ll see your closed Investment accounts.

This information will be emailed to you every 30 days in your Investment account statement. You can download a full report detailing all closed trades, and the profit share paid to your Strategy Manager for that period.

You can also get an up-to-date report at any point on MyAlpari. Choose the Statement tab on your Investment account, select the dates you want a report for and download.

Every time your chosen Strategy Manager opens a trade, you will also open a position at the same time and price based on you and your Strategy Manager’s equity.

The formula for this is: Ratio = Investor Equity / Strategy Manager Equity

So, if the Investor’s equity is 1000 USD and the Manager’s equity is 200, then the ratio will be 1000/200 – which is 5.

So, if the Strategy Manager buys 1 lot of EUR/USD, based on the ratio (= 5), then the Investment account will buy 5 lots of EUR/USD at the same price.

There are a number of reasons why your overall return may be different from your Strategy Manager’s. These include:

  • The Strategy Manager ranking page updates stats once an hour, whereas MyAlpari data is live
  • Your Investment Account may be on pause
  • You may have switched your Safety Mode on
  • The profit share may have been deducted – this takes place every 30 days
  • You have made a withdrawal

% change in profit on the Strategy Manager’s account * investment amount – profit share.

Your initial $100 investment would have grown to $300 if your Strategy Manager’s overall profit was 200% and you had invested on the first day.

And if that profit went from 200% to 300% over the course of a day, your investment would have grown to $400.

This is based on a simple formula. The percentage change in that one day for the new investor is (400-300)/300=33.33%.

If a new investor came along, followed the same Manager while his overall profit was at 200%, and invested $100, the investor will also have a 33.33% ($33.33) gain on his investment, bringing his overall total to $133.33.

It’s not possible to make any potential profits without exposing yourself to some risk.
